This weekend you won’t be seeing me. That’s because I’ve taken the Anchor group to Branson for their annual retreat, “Anchors Away.” Retreats are great things for Christians. The Anchor group does one and one is planned for the Teens in September. Retreats allow us the chance to get out of the world for a while and focus on our faith and lives as Christians
Welcome to November, I mean May! All this rain and cold weather feels like late Fall, not late Spring. The rain has put a damper on many gatherings and games. We often want to tell the rain to “take a hike.” What we need to keep in mind is that the rain brings life. In Matthew 5, Jesus tells us that God “sends the rain on the just and the unjust.” That rain is a blessing even when it is destructive and inconvenient.
