This weekend has been the Thanksgiving Holiday here in America. A time where we pause as a nation, give thanks for our blessings, and spend time around a table with family and friends. There are so many things we associate with this beloved holiday, one of them being Pilgrims.
Many things are subjective in nature. For example, riding a roller coaster is fun to some people and to others not so much. The eating of certain things is wonderful for many and to a select few not really. Case in point, I do not particularly like the taste of pumpkin pie. Many people do, and especially at this time of year they will begin to anticipate the smell and being able to enjoy it.
When someone approaches your front door, will they see a doormat? Most American homes have one laying there and it may or may not have some writing on it. Many have the word “Welcome” on it, some may have an initial of their last name. Some may choose to have the season or holiday represented on their mat. And some may choose to simply have a plain mat. This writer has to admit going out and checking to see what his says and it does say “Welcome”.
When we think of our “favorites”, what do we think about? If you had to come up with a list of your favorite things, what would be on it? To be helpful, let me list a few of my favorite things, in no particular order.
