Some years ago, the “What Would Jesus Do?” saying and wristbands took the evangelical world by storm. WWJD bracelets were worn by the believing masses, but let’s be honest, things didn’t change. If they did, it certainly wasn’t for the better. I recall a preacher friend of mine telling me about stopping by the local elementary school only to see a little girl giving some boy a good thrashing on the playground. The little girl was from his local congregation, and she was wearing an armful of WWJD bracelets!
The way the weather has been recently it’s hard to tell, but this past week marked the beginning of Spring. This happens to be my favorite season (behind fall). I love the mild temperatures and the new growth and signs of life (and let’s not forget the fishing & turkey hunting)! There is something wonderful about this time of year.
“Have thine own way..” “On the Old…” “How Great Thou…” “____ Loves Me”
“Amazing….” Most, if not all, of you filled in the blank and completed the titles. Perhaps even singing the first line or so.
The month of March is upon us, at least that is what most of the world calls this month. It has not always been that way. In ancient history, the calendar looked different than it does today.
This week has been very turbulent. On Tuesday night the area was rocked by severe storms and hail, while tornados touched down in nearby communities. These events reminded me of another storm.
