The God of heaven has revealed His will for mankind, the pinnacle of His creation, recorded in the Bible for all time. The word of God is living and active, and will endure forever. (see Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25) Since this is true, then mankind has no reason or excuse not to know or understand what God would have them do to be pleasing to Him.

There are those who believe the Bible is some kind of storybook, that it is open to any interpretation. However, they need to come to a better understanding of the Word of God. In fact, they should know and understand that the Bible is divinely given, according to 2 Timothy 3:16, literally God breathed. Therefore, everyone has the ability and should be willing to study His Word and come to an understanding of what is required of them to be right in His sight.

The divinely inspired apostle Paul would write this inEphesians 3:8-12 “8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.”

Remember the account of Philip preaching to the Ethiopian nobleman in Acts 8, the man was reading from the prophet Isaiah and the Bible says this in verses 34 & 35: The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.

The question was asked in response to the question by Philip “”Do you understand what you are reading?” in verse 30. We should be eternally grateful that we have the entire, revealed Will of God that we can read, study, understand; and ultimately have the ability to then obey. So, let us all continue to be good students of the Bible and fully realize that God loves us so much and desires for us to comprehend and respond favorably to His teaching given for us.

Yes, God has made known to man His will throughout time, it was given in antitypes, it was given in prophecy, it was given fully in Christ. It is to be desired, it is to be treasured, it is to be held as something truly precious. Therefore, let all of us fully embrace the revealed Word of God and do everything in our power to be obedient to Him in Christ today and every day.
