There are many ways that one can be reminded about the things of God.  Reading and studying His Bible, praying to Him, attending worship services regularly, surrounding oneself with others of like faith and the list goes on and on.

The first thing, should be to decide that this is what you desire more than anything else.  When our mindset is on the things of God and our thoughts become centered or focused on those things, it becomes a lifestyle and not just something you do on occasion.

Contained in the Bible, are many passages that indicate that our attitude towards God is paramount to living for Him properly.  Like:

Romans 15:5-7  Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,  so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, accept one another,  just   as   Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.

Romans 12:16  Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Philippians 2:5-7 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,  who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

The humble mind of Christ, being willing to do the will of God, is a great example to us.  We should be willing to adopt this type of attitude or mindset, knowing that He did it as an example for us, but also to glorify the One who sent Him.

The world teaches many things contrary to the will of God, one of those is to be more self-centered or selfish. This type of attitude is not one that is pleasing to the God of Heaven.  May we strive to do as Jesus did and put others above ourselves.

This is not always easy to do, but is very possible.  God does not give us things to accomplish that are impossible for us, but rather gives us tools to do all things that He desires for us to do.
