There are many things that could be written about in articles like these. In congregations all over the world there is someone that has written an article. It will be read by some of the members and some will not even deem it necessary to pick up a bulletin, let alone actually read the article.
This is not to complain, but to point out that not everyone seeks ways to further their faith as much as they could or should. God desires for us to be seeking Him constantly. (see Matthew 6:33; Hebrews 11:6) He has given us the way to do that in His Son, Jesus Christ. (John 14:6).
May we all be seeking Him consistently and continually. Remember the words of Jesus in Revelation 2:10, be faithful unto death. Until or in the face of death may all Christians do all that they can to add to their faith. (see 2 Peter 1:5-10).
This evening’s lesson will be centered on the fact of having focus on one’s faith. There is easily many things that will detract us from our faith in God through Christ.
One thing that some will miss, is that failing to focus on their faith is doing exactly what the devil would have one do. That old roaring lion does not care if he swallows you whole or devours you one bite at a time. (1 Peter 5:8)
Please read and think on this passage. Psalms 105:1-5 Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth.
This will be the scripture reading tonight. God through the Psalmist is encouraging godly people to be thinking of Him continually. Although there are many different tasks that must be performed each day by everyone, they can all be done to the glory of God.
If you have read this far into the article, what scripture comes to your mind as pertaining to faithfulness? It would be so encouraging to this writer to hear from you on this matter. For those who are members at Arnold please tell me in person. For those of you who are not, please email me. It is listed on the inside of the bulletin. But here it is for convenience: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for reading this article, please seek to grow your faith daily. You will be glad you did.
