“Once upon a time”, these words have begun many a story or “fairy tale” as they are called.  When one of our grandsons was a bit younger, he would begin a story with “when I was a baby”.  Nothing wrong with stories, they help us to convey concepts and ideas to people.  They are also used to entertain and amuse.  Sometimes, this is a great way to be taken away from the cares and concerns of this world.

However, the story will eventually end and the cares and concerns are still there.  Then we must decide how to handle all the important things of this life.  We cannot live in stories, but must face reality and the everyday things we must do.  We have need of forgiveness, mercy and redemption, due to our sin that separates us from God. (Isaiah 59:1-2)

Therefore, God sent His Son to be the perfect sacrifice for the sin of the world.  (John 1:29;  1 John 3:16)  This is not a ‘story’, it is a factual account in the history of mankind.  The greatest event that has ever happened.

Galatians 4:4-7  But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,  [5]  so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.  [6]  Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”  [7]  Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

1 Peter 3:18  For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Since this is the case, what will you do with this knowledge?  Will you accept the fact of it?  Will you reject it?  God desires for you to know the facts of His love for you and to be obedient to the good news of His Son, Jesus Christ.  (1 Timothy 2:4)

Know that the things of God are not some made-up story, but the only truth that can be counted upon in this world. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16)  Since this is the case, may all of us be willing to read, study and obey the word of God, the Bible. All men need to learn of God and the things of God that are contained within its pages.  Seek to listen to Him and Him alone.  Not the fables of man.  (see 2 Timothy 4:1-4)

God has given us all that we need.  Please do not become distracted by the fabrication of mankind that is in opposition to what the God of Heaven has revealed.  Instead, remain focused on the truth of God’s word and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
