The sky is a shade of blue that is at once pure and almost clear. There are no clouds in the sky. A jet flies overhead leaving a vapor trail, the only mark that is visible. As the eye descends to the horizon, trees, a field of corn and, finally, the row of cotton that the young boy has been assigned to hoe is seen.
